Munich Airport is pushing ahead with its decarbonization efforts, and has now been recognised at Level 3 Optimisation of ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation. The airport aims to reach Level 3+ Neutrality by 2030, and “net carbon zero” by 2050.

Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund has pledged £40,000 (€50,000) to support four local sustainability-themed projects. To celebrate 10 years of FlightPath, the Fund’s committee is urging local groups, charities and organisations to submit applications to support sustainability-themed projects aimed at improving the environment in the communities neighbouring Glasgow Airport and beyond.

Frankfurt Airport re-certified under ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation and striving to be CO2-free by 2050
Frankfurt Airport has been re-certified for 2020 at Level 3 Optimisation of ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation. Over the next 10 years, Fraport intends to cut CO2 emissions at Frankfurt Airport to 80,000 metric tonnes a year. The company is striving to fully reduce emissions and be CO2-free at FRA by 2050.
Birmingham Airport has launched a fully-electric bus fleet to replace the current diesel vehicles in operation. The new fleet is made up of six 7900e single deck electric buses supplied by Volvo Bus UK, providing an 80% lower energy consumption than the equivalent-sized diesel bus.
