Birmingham Airport has launched a fully-electric bus fleet to replace the current diesel vehicles in operation. The new fleet is made up of six 7900e single deck electric buses supplied by Volvo Bus UK, providing an 80% lower energy consumption than the equivalent-sized diesel bus.
On 2 October 2019, ACI EUROPE signed a cooperation agreement with the RE-Source Platform, the European alliance of stakeholders for corporate renewable energy sourcing. The South Australian Water Corporation, in partnership with Adelaide Airport, has conducted a three-year trial involving irrigation and cultivation of airside land at Adelaide Airport using stormwater.
Glasgow is the first UK airport to introduce a fleet of zero-emission electric buses to its car park operation. The three-strong fleet of all-electric battery buses replace the current diesel fleet used to shuttle passengers between the terminal and the airport’s long-stay car park.
