Leeds Bradford Airport unveils plans for more efficient, sustainable terminal building

Leeds Bradford Airport is submitting fresh plans to build a state-of-the-art terminal, aiming to significantly improve passenger experience and deliver one of the UK’s most environmentally-efficient airport buildings. The new plans will be submitted in spring 2020. The proposal is for construction of a three-floor, 34,000sqm terminal.

Manchester Airport launches airfield re-designation scheme as part of £1bn development

Manchester Airport has launched an airfield re-designation scheme as part of its £1 billion (€1.2bn) transformation programme. The airport is currently building a dual taxiway system to improve access from its runways to the terminal. To prepare for introduction of the new parallel taxiways in 2020, changes have been made to a number of the airfield designators.

Mace appointed to lead Major Development Plan for Keflavik Airport

Isavia has appointed Mace as Programme Manager for the Keflavik International Airport Major Development Plan. Based on the Keflavik Airport Masterplan, this will provide a new 85,000sqm East Pier, a new North Terminal and other associated works, all of which will increase the airport’s capacity to over 14.5 million passengers.

Prague Airport receives approval for first stage of Terminal 2 expansion

Václav Havel Airport Prague has introduced its long-term concept and development strategy to 2035. The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic has approved an investment of over CZK 16 billion (€625m) for the first stage of the Terminal 2 expansion, with construction expected to be completed in 2028.

£59m baggage system upgrade progresses as Stansted Transformation Project celebrates two-year milestone

Stansted is investing £59 million (€70m) in a brand-new baggage delivery system, updating the huge network of conveyor belts, lifts and chutes underneath the main terminal which transports up to 30,000 bags every day.
