Unifree/Gebr. Heinemann awarded mega duty free contract at Istanbul New Airport

It was announced last week that Unifree Duty Free, in which Gebr. Heinemann holds 60.8% of shares, has won the contract to operate all airside retail space at Istanbul New Airport, operated by İGA Group, for a 25-year period from the airport’s opening. Gebr. Heinemann has described this as the greatest single success in the company’s history. In an exclusive interview with Airport Business, Claus Heinemann, Co-owner, Gebr. Heinemann, explained the importance of this new contract and the company’s existing business in Turkey.
