Exploring innovative technologies for airport operations

Encouraging new ideas and fresh thinking is critical for innovation in aviation in order to respond to the growing demand for air travel and the increasing number of air vehicles, such as drones, taking to the skies. That is why the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) supports exploratory research and has created an innovation pipeline in the research programme that transforms innovative ideas into solutions to increase the performance of air traffic management (ATM). As is customary in the beginning of each year, ACI EUROPE holds its New Year’s Reception in the European Parliament in Brussels. This year’s event on 23 January was kindly hosted by MEPs Gabriele Preuß (Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats) & Wim van de Camp (Group of the European People’s Party) – both of them members of the Committee on Transport & Tourism of the European Parliament.
