ACI EUROPE has revealed that Europe’s airports saw a -98.6% drop in passenger traffic during April compared with the same period last year, resulting in a loss of -202 million passengers. The European network of 500+ airports welcomed only 2.8 million passengers in April.
23 CEOs and Presidents of major EU companies and industry federations call on the EU to spur solidarity across the bloc. This cross-industry statement comes as the EU Heads of State and Government prepare for a video conference on 23 April 2020 that will focus on recovery post-COVID-19.

Towards a more sustainable aviation sector in line with the European Green Deal – the ACI EUROPE Aviation Sustainability Summit
In the context of the European Green Deal, alongside ACI EUROPE’s NetZero2050 commitment and Sustainability Strategy for Airports, ACI EUROPE held the first Aviation Sustainability Summit on 22 January 2020 in Brussels. The event aimed to highlight the European airport industry’s climate action and to discuss the next steps the aviation industry needs to take to contribute to the EU climate neutrality goal by 2050.
