ACI EUROPE launches new website

At this year’s ACI EUROPE Annual Assembly, Congress & Exhibition in Lisbon, Director General Olivier Jankovec unveiled the trade association’s brand new website, by showing a screenshot of the homepage, at the end of his ‘State of the Industry’ keynote presentation.

The new website is part of the association’s strategy to re-position itself, as being as innovative and information-ready as its 400 strong membership. Robert O’Meara, Communications Manager at ACI EUROPE commented “It was time. We wanted to really re-invent our online presence. The new design puts a strong emphasis on the architectural innovation that is regularly showcased in airports, their indispensable role in the aviation supply chain and the human interaction that takes place at the airport. Our new motto ‘Every Flight Begins at the Airport’ sums up the philosophy behind it.”

The new website is easier to navigate and a new filing system for both public and members-only documentation, should also ensure that all ACI EUROPE publications are more accessible from now on. The new design puts ACI EUROPE’s website to the fore of other trade association websites in Brussels.

Social Media moves

The new website also points visitors to the social media tools being employed by ACI EUROPE. Following the success of ACI EUROPE’s special report “Airports 2.0, How European airports are Embracing Social Media”, the trade association has moved its own social media activities up a few gears. In mid-July, the Twitter profile @ACI_EUROPE went live and has already gathered a good following, with EC Vice President Siim Kallas even tweeting about it. Moreover, all the latest news is now available via RSS feed and the existing LinkedIn groups for ACI EUROPE and its World Business Partners will also see more activity from now on. The dedicated Facebook page for Airport Carbon Accreditation is also gaining popularity and more cross-referencing between these social media channels is to be expected in the coming year.
