Heathrow announces COVID detection trials

Heathrow Airport is to trial technologies and processes which could form the basis of a Common International Standard for health screening at all global airports. The aim of the collective measures being trialled is to reduce the risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19 while travelling.

Stuttgart Airport’s Terminal 1 will be the venue for the world’s first 1:1 concerts at an airport on 8 May and 10 May 2020. A musician will play a personal concert for a single listener for 10 minutes each, with the two being completely alone in the room.

Hamad Airport increases cargo activity by 4.7% in Q1 2020

Hamad International Airport increased its cargo activity by 4.7% in Q1 2020. The increase is partly attributed to continued efforts by the airport and Qatar Airways to provide freighter services in response to the increased demand for essential goods and medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vilnius Airport has found a unique way of utilising its temporarily empty apron area during the COVID-19 pandemic by opening a drive-in cinema. The ‘Aerocinema – The Journey Begins’ project runs until the end of May as part of the Vilnius International Film Festival.

Riga Airport enhancing COVID-19 health and safety measures as it prepares for gradual increase in flights

Riga Airport is working on additional preventive measures in the terminal to protect employees and passengers, and limit the spread of COVID-19. The airport is also planning the necessary personnel and infrastructure resources for a gradual increase in the number of flights.
