New Pier 5 opening the latest stage in Gatwick’s €2.6bn transformation

London Gatwick Airport has continued its growth and transformation with the opening of the £80 million (€105m) Pier 5. Gatwick CEO Stewart Wingate was joined by Caroline Ansell MP on 1 February to officially open the newly-redeveloped pier, which is now fully operational and forms a key part of the North Terminal transformation plan.

Bristol Airport west terminal extension to deliver ‘industry-leading passenger experience’

Bristol Airport has held a ‘topping out’ ceremony for its west terminal extension, following completion of the steelwork for the £24 million (€31m) structure. The extension will transform the security search experience, and create an enlarged baggage reclaim area, customs facilities, arrivals retail, and meet and greet area.

Munich’s new satellite terminal enters ORAT programme before April opening

Development of Munich Airport’s new satellite terminal is entering its final stages, with the Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) programme well underway. The €900 million investment includes the satellite terminal, extension of the apron layout and modification of the baggage sorting system. Philipp Ahrens, one of the General Managers in charge of the satellite project, updates Airport Business on the development, which will be complete in April.
