World Business Partners & Airports: Engaging for Mutual Benefit
The ACI World Business Partner (WBP) programme was rebooted at the beginning of 2010, with coordination moving from ACI WORLD to each of the ACI regions. ACI EUROPE has made gains in reconnecting with former WBPs and broadening the membership of the programme, all the while seeking to improve the value it offers members. 2010 Economics Report Holds a Mirror to the Industry
At the start of the summer, ACI EUROPE published its Economics Report 2010, bringing together and analysing in aggregate form economic data from over 190 European airports. The report – kindly sponsored by TAV Airports Holding – covers airports which carried 77% (or over 1 billion) of Europe’s air passengers in 2009 and sheds light on how the industry weathered the recessionary storm. Regional airports conference & exhibition focuses on threats and opportunities
ACI EUROPE’s Regional Airports’ Forum 4th Annual Conference and Exhibition took place on 9-11 May just outside Cagliari, Sardinia. Kindly hosted by Cagliari Airport, and co-located with Routes Europe, the event brought together 150 delegates from regional airports, airlines, local and national authorities, the European Commission (EC) and ACI EUROPE World Business Partners, under the theme ‘Enhancing the competitive position of regional airports – key to survival and development’.

Schiphol Airport visit allows MEPs Hands-On Experience of Security Scanners
With more EU legislation on aviation security anticipated in the coming months, ACI EUROPE organised a fact-finding mission for Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in collaboration with Schiphol Group to examine how the next generation of scanners can become an important tool in airports’ security efforts.
