Manchester Airport is ending January 2017 by celebrating Chinese New Year. A lion dance and traditional Chinese dancers have entertained passengers waiting for their flight to Beijing during the celebrations. Meanwhile, the terminals have been decorated with Chinese lanterns, and special retail offers are available to travellers.

Those passengers not travelling to China can visit the airport’s social media channels for the opportunity to win prizes, including £75 (€90) duty free vouchers, £50 (€60) holiday vouchers, and a tour of Concorde.

Manchester is the only UK airport outside London with direct routes to China. Hainan Airlines serves Beijing, while Cathay Pacific serves Hong Kong.
