HMSHost International to open two new concepts at Stockholm Skavsta Airport

HMSHost International is to open, before summer 2017, two new concepts at Stockholm Skavsta Airport – a Nordic Bar and a Puro Gusto outlet serving Italian coffee. The openings are a continuation of the company’s expansion strategy in the Nordics. A new 10-year contract has been signed, with total contract sales expected to be €63.5 million.

In the Nordic Bar HMSHost has taken the simplicity of the Nordic lifestyle and translated it to a basic and functional concept. The menu is driven by a locally-sourced, seasonal offer and a variety of international items.

“Since 2004 we operate a Food Hall, bar and coffee shop at Stockholm Skavsta Airport and we are proud of being part of the next phase of this Swedish airport. A region which is famous for their Nordic lifestyle and I believe we can contribute to that with our mix of international favourites and popular local dishes,” says Walter Seib, CEO HMSHost International.

The Nordic Kitchen is said to offer a combination of recognisable and surprising food & beverage items like sausages, Swedish meatballs and homemade burgers – all prepared in front of the guests. Meanwhile, for the Nordic Bar HMSHost has selected the best crafted beer available in Scandinavia. It offers five draft beers, including one seasonal beer, and a selection of local Scandinavian bottled beers.

“We have come to know HMSHost as a reliable partner over the years and are quite happy with the conditions of the new contract, which, we feel are beneficial to both parties,” explains Peter Steinmetz, Managing Director, Stockholm Skavsta Airport. “HMSHost is a reputable food & beverage operator at airports internationally with a feel for the Nordic environment. The new concepts, with their revamped layout, will contribute much to upgrading of both the appearance and the service levels at our airport.”
