ADELTE’s Apron Drive bridges are tailor-made, allowing for a variety of docking heights, and include adjustable handling and lifting mechanisms, providing safety and comfort for passengers.

The contract comprises the design, manufacture and installation of 18 new electromechanical glass-sided Apron Drive bridge models alongside 12 new walkways and 30 rooftops, also designed and manufactured by ADELTE. The 12 existing passenger boarding bridges, meanwhile, will be dismantled and disposed of.

ADELTE’s Apron Drive bridges are tailor-made, allowing for a variety of docking heights, and include adjustable handling and lifting mechanisms, providing safety and comfort for passengers. The contract between ADELTE and the PCAA also includes the delivery of 12 innovative ZEPHIR (45T and 90T) Pre-Conditioned Air Units from its Ground Support Equipment range.

“Pakistan is a growing market where we already have experience providing airport equipment,” ADELTE Vice-President and Commercial Director Jordi Floreta commented. “The PCAA is very demanding, and is willing to modernise its airport infrastructure and enhance operations with ADELTE’s high quality technology, products and services. We are very confident that this contract will consolidate a long term relationship.”

The new Passenger Boarding Bridges and Ground Support Equipment will serve a wide range of aircraft, and ADELTE claims the equipment will adapt perfectly to the current and future needs of airlines operating at Karachi, offering maximum safety and comfort for the more than 16 million passengers that travel to and from Karachi each year.
