The conference theme, “Managing airport investment, financial management and economic sustainability in an ever changing environment”, dealt with issues as diverse as the future structure of the airline industry and its implications on airports, the regulatory framework, managing risk, performance management, the economic impact of airports and the importance of non-aeronautical revenues.

The conference was preceded by the 1st ACI-World Bank Annual Aviation Symposium in a new partnership. The Symposium centered on public-private partnerships and included many case studies. The day ended with the presentation of the new World Bank book, Ready for Take-off. On the strength of the interest it generated this year, the partnership between ACI and the World Bank will be a feature of next year’s event as well.
