Heinemann and Lindt serve up ace promotion at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport is serving up an ace retail promotion this month in collaboration with Heinemann Duty Free and LINDT of Switzerland. The exclusive promotion, featuring Swiss tennis star Roger Federer, is taking place at three of the retailer’s largest outlets at the airport.

Roger Federer Lindt

The promotion offers customers the opportunity to win one of eight tennis rackets, personally signed by Swiss star Roger Federer.

Customers are being invited by LINDT hostesses to sample LINDOR balls, while also having the opportunity to participate in a tennis-themed instant win competition by guessing the number of mini tennis balls in an impressive crystal-clear bubble. They enter their estimate via an interactive touchscreen tower. Customers who guess correctly will win one of eight tennis rackets, personally signed by Federer, while near misses will receive a LINDOR bag. Meanwhile, all who enter receive the tasty consolation prize of a LINDOR chocolate ball.

“We are delighted that our long-time confectionery supplier Lindt & Sprüngli chose the Heinemann Duty Free shops at Frankfurt Airport for its ‘Swiss-Icon-Promotion’,” commented Rüdiger Stelkens, Director Purchase Liquor, Tobacco & Confectionery, Gebr. Heinemann. “This exclusive promotion, which expresses the values of quality and passion, adds something distinctive to our retail offer. It fits perfectly with our goal to surprise passengers and to make their experience in our shops an enjoyable one.”

Peter Zehnder, Head of the Lindt & Sprüngli Global Duty Free division, added: “This promotion is a great way to celebrate two internationally renowned Swiss icons – Roger Federer (probably our best-known sports personality of all time), and LINDT chocolate (which has been made here in Switzerland by our LINDT Master Chocolatiers since 1845). We are certain this promotion will generate much excitement, and allow passengers to have some interactive fun while enjoying delicious chocolate. Our promotions are always designed to drive sales and there is a clearly defined link between the activity and a purchase. In the past, our promotions, such as our LINDOR Spring promotion at Copenhagen, have driven sales by as much as 700%. As the largest airport at which Heinemann operates, Frankfurt offers enormous potential for sales. Therefore we are confident that our promotion at Frankfurt will be equally as successful.”
