ACI EUROPE board meets the European parliament

On the occasion of their first meeting of 2009, the Board of ACI EUROPE was invited by Paolo Costa MEP, Chairman of the European Parliament’s Transport Committee, in collaboration with Dr Yiannis Paraschis, President of ACI EUROPE and Director General, Olivier Jankovec, to dinner at the European Parliament.

MEPs present included Sean O’Neachtain (Ireland), Brian Simpson (UK), Ulrich Stockmann (Germany), Arunas Degutis (Lithuania), Gabriele Albertini (Italy), Marian-Jean Marinescu (Romania), Luís Queiró (Portugal), and Boguslaw Liberadzki (Poland). Mr Jankovec set the scene, with an opening speech citing the excellent working relations between ACI EUROPE and the EP Transport Committee. This was followed by a detailed speech by Dr Paraschis, who outlined the current challenges facing the European airport industry. Finally, it was the turn of Paolo Costa MEP who outlined the policy process and the future outlook for transport in the European Union.
